| 2.2. Most common abbreviations in chats
In our work we will consider abbreviations in chat rooms that young people use when communicating, or the so-called informal abbreviations. What do they prescribe? What does TNX or THX mean? "Thanks!" How often do we say this word. The usual Russian abbreviation is ATP. And in English, thanks most often looks like tnx, thx, thanx. The words thank you are also often written with the acronym TY. What do NP and YW mean? When we were told “thank you”, then we need to answer “please”. You're welcome (yw) - short for “always welcome” or “please”. No problem (np) is an abbreviation for the answer “not at all”, or literally “no problem”. We also encountered many of these abbreviations when chatting. [12] After analysing messages in chats and forums, a list of which you can find in Appendix №1, we have compiled our list of 100 most common abbreviations. Below you can find the 20 most common ones. As a result of analysing many chats and forums, we noticed a tendency to shorten many grammatical forms. For example, from the entire system of English tenses, in general, only the tenses of the Simple group are used, even if it is grammatically incorrect: I broke
it today.

The absence of a subject in an English sentence means the imperative mood, but despite this, the subject is often skipped during Internet communication: Hey Anna, good to see you, still remember me? – (Hey, Anna, it’s good to see you. Do you
remember me?)
Want to practice my Еnglish. - (I want to practise my English) In interactive communication, function words that do not have their own lexical meaning, such as auxiliary verbs in interrogative and negative sentences and articles, are often omitted. In addition, the direct word order in interrogative sentences is often preserved instead of the intended reverse.
