| 2. Directions of profile education
In Kazakhstan profile training is carried out in three directions: naturally-mathematical, socially –humanitarian and technological. Naturally-mathematical direction is provided by the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer studies. Socially-humanitarian direction is provided by the subjects: Literature, World culture, Social studies, State and Law basics, Rhetoric. Technological direction is provided by the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Graphics, Design. Profile training is realized in comprehensive schools, grammar schools, lyceums, specialized schools for talented children, and special schools for children with limited abilities. A network of specialized schools for gifted children with learning in three languages has been created. Currently, the republic has 33 schools with three languages and 7 Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. In order to create innovative models of multilingual education, the number of schools offering education in three languages, will increase from 33 to 700. The number of "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" will expand from7 to 20. These schools will be basic platforms for testing the multilingual model of education, innovations in education. At the current stage the efforts of researchers, methodologists, teachers, educational managers is directed at the development of psychological and pedagogical, organizational and managerial foundations of profile education, its normative, methodological, human resources, material and technical bases. Much attention is given to the methodology of teaching supplementary and elective courses. In the curriculum must be provided organization of different kinds of practices, projects, investigations. As for literature reference books, textbooks for the first courses of Universities, scientific works, popular scientific literature should be used.
