Lesson 12. Methods of teaching foreign languages in specialized schools

Specialized schools. The school of the 21st century requires that the students should be able to rapidly adapt to the constantly changing world, to develop their creative potential in their future professional activity. The Ministry of Education has developed new educational standards. Kazakhstan national system of education emphasizes a great role of a child’s personality in the educational process. In this connection it is not surprising that new educational curricula and new types of schools have appeared. In 1998 in Kazakhstan was created the scientific-practical center “Daryn” which coordinates the work with gifted children. The center “Daryn” established a network of educational organizations including over 20 specialized boarding schools for the gifted children.
In Kazakhstan there are several types of schools for gifted children: boarding schools; Kazakh-Turkish lyceums; specialized schools where some subjects are taught in the foreign language; intellectual schools.
