The term "coat of arms" comes from the German word « erbe »(inheritance) and means a hereditary distinctive sign - a combination of figures and objects, which are given a symbolic meaning. History shows that the nomads of the bronze age, who lived in the territory of modern Kazakhstan, identified themselves with a special symbol - a totem, the graphical expression of which later received the name "Tamga". For the first time this term began to be used in the Turkic Khaganate. The coat of arms of sovereign Kazakhstan was officially adopted in 1992. Its authors are well-known architects Zhandarbek Malibekov and Shut-Aman Ualikhanov. The state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan has the shape of a circle (wheel) - a symbol of life and eternity, which enjoyed special honor among the nomads of the great steppe. The Central heraldic element in the state emblem is the image of Shanyrak (the upper vaulted part of the Yurt) on a blue background, from which uyks (supports) diverge in all directions in the form of sunlight. On the right and left of Shanyrak there are images of mythical winged horses. At the top is a three-dimensional five-pointed star, and at the bottom of the inscription "Kazakhstan". The image of the star, Shanyrak, bast, mythical horses, as well as the inscription "Kazakhstan" - made in gold color. Shanyrak is a main backbone part of the Yurt that resembles a blue sky. it is also one of the key elements of Kazakh family dwelling in the traditional culture of Eurasian nomads. In the State emblem of the Republic of anyrace image is a symbol of common home and common homeland of all people living in the country. The stable development of Kazakhstan depends on welfare of each citizen just like the strength and stability of Shanyrak depends on reliability of all its uyks. The winged mythical horses , tulpars, are the key heraldic element of the state emblem. The image of the horse stands for such notions as bravery since time immemorial. The wings symbolize the centuries-old dream of the multinational people of Kazakhstan to build a strong and prosperous state. They represent pure thoughts and aspiration to successive and constructive development. Golden wings of horses also resemble Golden ears and represent the diligence of Kazakhstan and the material well-being of the country. In centuries past the horns are often used during ceremonial rites of nomads as well as a finial to their fighting banners. The images of heavenly grace, fertility of the earth and the military fortune in the form of various animals ' horns are always considered as integral parts in symbolic compositions of different peoples. Thus, a winged horse with a horn of plenty is an important typological image that has deep semantic and historical roots. Another detail in the state emblem of the Republic is a five-pointed star. This symbol has been used by mankind since ancient times and represents the constant aspiration of people to the light of truth, to everything sublime and eternal. The image of the star in the state emblem reflects the desire of Kazakhstan to build a country open to cooperation and partnership with all peoples of the world. The hearts and arms of the people of Kazakhstan are open to representatives of all five continents. The main color used in the state emblem is the color of gold, which serves as a symbol of wealth, justice and generosity.
