Linguistic and semantic features occasional words
Present article dwells upon an analysis of linguistic features of lexical and stylistic neologisms (occasional
words) and their peculiar features.
Language reflects a process of cognition playing a role as a basic mean for the
expression of thoughts. Language is started to be perceived as a way which helps us to penetrate into the imaginations
of people about the world. Each language conceptualises reality in its own way that has specific, national and univer-
sal features. Interaction of language and speech acts lead to the appearance of new communicative and pragmatic
thoughts reflecting author’s picture of the world. Emotional and imaginative thinking of the writer mirrors himself in
an individual picture of the world thus is created as a concrete language individual.
The statements that incongruity of occasional words leads to emergence of a new meaning of the words and
occurrence of nominative and expressive coloring of the given concept were defined via semantic analysis. Occa-
sional words are also approached from the perspective of the secondary nomination.
