The military potential of the ancient Turks and its effect on the Tang Empire and the Arab Caliphate
The article discusses the history of creation and development of the Turkish militias and guard and their con-
quests as part of the Tang Empire and the Arab Caliphate. Based on the medieval written sources, the authors show
the role of turkish soldiers in the public administration of the country, went all the way from the military posts to the
rulers and governors in the individual regions of the Caliphate.
