20. Measurements 1 (1)
Rules of measurement
Our scales precisely measure weight and mass. We calibrate our scales carefully to ensure accuracy. We will also calibrate them again for free.
Our featured scale, The PS-90, is an analytical balance. It can measure masses as small as milligrams. The balance features ab glass enclosure surrounding its scale. The enclosure prevents wind and dust from affecting measurements. The PS-90 even regulates temperature within the enclosure. Temperature regulation prevents air currents from forming inside the enclosure.
The PS-90 s default measurement setting is metric. However, it can easily convert grams into ounces. Alternatively, it can give readings in kilograms or pounds.

People(пипл) can measure(мезәр) quantities(куәнтитис) in many different ways. For instance(инстәнс), there(зер) are there are three systems for measuring temperature. One temperature (темперче) system is the Fahrenheit (Фаренгейт) system. Water freezes at thirty-two(сөти) degrees, Boils at 212 degrees(дегрис) Fahrenheit (Фаренгейт) system. The Celsius system also measures temperature, but does so differently. Water freezes zero degrees, Boils at 100°C(хандрет) degrees Celsius. However ( хауавэ) Kelvins also measure temperature. One Kelvin equals one degree Celsius. However ( хауавэ) Kelvins use(еэс) a different scale(скэл). The Kelvin scale begins 273 (хандрет) degrees below the Celsius scale. Simple equations can convert units between the three systems.
Different measurements styles (стайлс) even exist(игзэс) within systems. The metric system measures volume(вэулим) in liters. However, it also measures volume in cubic centimeters. A cubic centimeter is equal to one milliliter.
At a chemist’s shop
Chemist’s shops are specialized shops where medicines and medical items are sold. There are two departments in a chemist’s shop: a chemist’s department and a prescription department. At a chemist’s department you can buy ready-made drugs such as tablets, ampoules, pills, vitamins, etc.
In the prescription department you can see drugs of all kinds: boxes of different powders, tubes of ointments for rubbing: different pills and tablets for internal use; tonics and sedatives administered orally. Lots of drugs have to be ordered at a prescription department. The pharmaceutist takes the prescription, checks up the dosage, calculates the cost and hands the prescription over to an assistant’s room, where assistants make drugs in the accordance with the prescription. All medicines are kept in drug cabinets, on the shelves and in the refrigerator. Poisonous drugs are kept in the drug cabinet with the letter .Strong effective drugs are kept in the drug cabinet having the letter . Every small bottle or box has a label with the name of the medicine stuck on it. The single dose and the total dosage are indicated on the label or the signature. The directions for the administrations of a drug are very important for patients.
