Аbstract.
The article examines the name of the insects in the Kazakh language in the
cognitive and linguocultural aspect and reveals the following reasons for their motivation
by people:
1. The external characteristics (color, shape);
2. Тhe pace and types of movements: to crawl, to climb, to wriggle, to jump, to cringe,
to waddle.
3. The life of insects, whetherthey benefit or harm the environment;
4. Тhe place where they live and breed.
