This article is devoted to an experimental study of communication skills in children with a
language barrier and statistical confirmation of the effectiveness of the author’s training using the Wilcoxon
T-test. The relevance of this study is because today more and more children study in classes where the main
language of instruction is not their native one. In total, our study used two methods to measure communication
skills: the method of E.E. Kravtsova «Don’t say yes or no» and the sociometric method «Two houses» by T. D.
Martsinkovskaya. The sample was composed of younger students. The control group included 45 children; the
experimental group consisted of 50 children. All of them had a language barrier in communication. The results
of this study showed statistical significance in the shift in the indicators of methods before and after training.
