The thesis is written in the Kazakh language, consists of the introduction, three
interconnected sections divided into subsections, the conclusion and the references.
The introduction substantiates the rationale of the thesis, formulates the
objectives, tasks, target, subject and the methods of the research, shows the scientific
novelty and practical significance of the obtained results, describes personal
contribution of the doctoral candidate into the work, contains the information about the
work evaluation and the publication connected with it.
The first section of the thesis is devoted to the analysis of the methodological
approaches and technologies suitable for construction of information systems of
The research of the scientific community’s information needs is conducted in the
context of the changes provoked by the distribution of internet technologies, based on
the comparison of characteristics of the information needs. Special requirements to the
academic activities information system support are formulated. Particularly that such
system should support reliable long-term and secured information storage; include
more dictionaries-classifiers for ensuring identification and classification of the
resources; support low structured information resources and interconnections between
the information resources; include smart services for users’ query serving, as well as
program interfaces for support of user’s analytical work; meet the requirements of
interoperability etc. As a result of analysis of construction technology of the digital
repositories and the existing platforms for information system of academic activities
support DSpace platform was chosen.
The issues of the selection of subject area classifier applied at creation of
thesaurus are discussed. A brief overview of some classifiers applied in the scientific
activities is made. In order to automatize the process of thematic classification of
documents the main principles of coordinate indexing, constructing and the thesaurus
data schemes were considered, as well as the existing instruments for conducting
morphological analysis.
The second section describes the conceptual model of information system for
academic activities support including the main subjects, their classes and subclasses,
types of meta-data and their relations. The principally constructed model meets all the
users described information needs, including: unambiguous identification of the
resources, connections between the documents, ensuring separation of the resources,
general systematic users’ requirements. The conclusions are made that the information
model of the system should be multilevel and consist of at least two components:
storage subsystem (digital repository) and subsystem of information resources
management services. The method for creation of thesauruses on the basis of the Zthes
data scheme is developed.
The third section deals with the program implementation of the information
system academic activities support. The architecture of information system is described
as well as the protocol of interaction between its parts – repository and the information
resources management services. The results of development of multilingual IT
thesaurus are represented which allows solving the tasks of systematization and
classification of information resources, conduction of analytical work with the
resources and ensuring integration of resources both inside of each system and with the
external systems. A new algorithm of reduction of the Kazakh words to the normal
form is suggested.
The algorithms of automation of the main stages of scientific and information
process with the participation of low structured documents are suggested, including
extraction of meta-data, clustering and thematic classification of documents. The
means of setting the measure of proximity of publications and thematic headings was
developed and tested, based on comparison of an attribute – key terms (descriptors).
The algorithm of thematic classification of documents on the basis of this measure was
suggested.
In the conclusion of the thesis the main theoretical and practical results and
summaries are represented.
