Happyness" - Christopher Gardner - we can conclude that he is an extrovert with traits of sanguine and choleric.
I came to this conclusion due to the fact that Chris Gardner focuses on his loved ones (first of all, I'm talking
about his son Christopher) and other people, on the world and life around him. He chooses action to inaction
and thinks just enough to solve his problems as efficiently as possible. He is very active, optimistic, lively and
sociable. And we can see how much these traits helped him in achieving his goal and solving problems.
Our
values guide us in making decisions and taking or not taking any action. They are part of us, our unique,
individual essence. Our values are formed under the influence of the society around us, family, loved ones,
those whose opinion is important to us, and etc. It is the values that should determine where you should invest
your energy, resources and time.
So, based on the actions of Chris Gardner, we can identify in him such values as:
Family - he values and tries to protect his family. The fact that he did not know his father until he was 28, as
a result of which he greatly appreciates family ties, greatly influenced the formation of this value. The departure
of his wife severely crippled him and his fortitude, but after that he begins to value his relationship with his son
even more, spends more time with him.
Trust is natural for a person to want to be believed and trusted. Chris's quarrels with his wife and her
expressed mistrust and lack of faith in his success hit Chris very hard. You can clearly see how much he values
trust in those scenes where he asks his son: "Do you believe me?" You can also notice the influence of the son's
positive responses on his mood and motivation.
Time - he began to appreciate it greatly after being accepted for an internship. In a competitive environment,
in much worse conditions (less time in the office, as he took his son, looking for housing, other ways to earn
money), he tried to save every minute and increase the amount of productive time.
Well-being - by well-being I mean material and social well-being. The pursuit of well-being was another
motivation to achieve his goal of becoming a broker.
