ready-made cloud infrastructure. This means that the user has the right to dispose
of and manage all the resources. Process and store data, install and run by a
different software, operating systems. The user is able to control himself all the
actions performed. Provider shall monitor and control all of the cloud, as it is a
physical component, so the virtual infrastructure. The special features of IaaS
include: Virtualization technologies. Integrated Management Systems. The
reality of using the best architectures and frameworks. IaaS fundamentally
leverages technology, services, and data center investments to provide it as a
service to customers. Unlike traditional outsourcing, which requires due
diligence, endless negotiations, and complex, lengthy contracts, IaaS is centered
around a service delivery model that provides a predefined, standardized
infrastructure specifically tailored to the needs of the customer. Simplified job
offers and service level selection make it easy for the customer to select a solution
with a specific set of key performance characteristics. Typically, vendors provide
the following levels of components:
•
Hardware (usually Grid with massive horizontal scalability);
•
Computer network (including routers, firewalls, load balancing, etc.);
•
Internet connection;
•
Virtualization platform for running virtual machines;
•
Service maintenance agreements;
•
Tools for accounting calculations.
Instead of buying data center space, servers, software, networking equipment,
etc., IaaS customers are essentially renting, which are on the side of serving IaaS
service providers. Payment for the provision of services is usually made on a
monthly basis. The client pays only for the consumed resources.
