  • Development of flowcharts of operation of devices of the computer.

A flowchart is a schematic representation of a process, system, or computer algorithm. Flowcharts are often used in various fields of activity to document, study, plan, improve and explain complex processes using simple logical diagrams. Rectangles, ovals, rhombuses and some other shapes are used to build flowcharts (to indicate specific operations), as well as connecting arrows that indicate the sequence of steps or the direction of the process. Flowcharts range from simple, hand-drawn diagrams to detailed, computer-generated diagrams with many steps and processes. If we take into account all possible variations, flowcharts can be recognized as one of the most common types of schemes around the world. They are widely used in various fields of both technical and non-technical orientation. Sometimes flowcharts get more specialized names, for example, process diagram, workflow diagram, functional flowchart, business process modeling, business process model and notation (BPMN) or process flow diagram (PFD). They are closely related to other common types of diagrams, such as DFD diagrams and activity diagrams in the Unified Modeling Language (UML).

Описание

Процесс

This symbol, also known as "Action", is used to denote a process, action, or function. This is the most common symbol in flowcharts.

Начало/конец

This symbol, which is sometimes also called a "Terminator", is used to indicate the starting or ending point of the scheme or the possible result of a particular path of development of the process. Inside the block, as a rule, the word "Beginning" or "End" is located.

Документ

Symbolizes the input or output of a document. Entering a document may mean the receipt of a report, an email, or an order. Examples of document output: creating a presentation, a working summary or a letter.

Решение

It symbolizes a question that needs an answer (usually "yes/no" or "true/false"). At this stage, the flowchart branches in different directions depending on the selected response and subsequent blocks.

Соединитель

It is usually used in more complex schemes to connect individual blocks within a single page.

Межстраничный соединитель

It is often used in complex schemes to connect individual blocks located on different pages. For the convenience of interpretation, the page number is usually indicated inside the figure.

Ввод/вывод

This figure, also known as "Data", symbolizes the data available for input or output, as well as the resources spent or received. Although "Paper tape" also means data input/output, today this symbol is considered obsolete and therefore quite rarely used in flowcharts.

Комментарий (примечание)

In combination with other materials, this symbol allows you to add the necessary context, explanation or comment to a certain range of data. The comment can also be attached to the required section of the flowchart using the dotted line.

Creating a flowchart:
1.Open the File tab.
2.Click Create, in the Templates or Categories area, click General, and then double-click Flowchart.
3.Drag the shapes from the branches of the Blocks and Lifting the blocks onto the page.
4.To add text to a shape, you select it and enter the text.
How to format a flowchart?
Customizing Shapes
Just click on the shape to increase or decrease its size. Change its color by selecting the desired shade from the fill palette (its icon is on the upper toolbar), or apply a ready-made theme from the menu on the right. The top panel contains tools that will allow you to control almost every aspect of your shapes, lines and texts.
Setting up Lines
Select the line you want to customize and look at the top toolbar. There you can control the thickness and style of the lines and even the type of arrows.
Objects can be edited individually, selecting the desired shape each time, but if you hold down and select a section or area of the canvas, you will notice that all the shapes inside this area will also be highlighted, which means that any movements and edits you have made will be applied to all objects inside the selected area. No one is immune from mistakes, but if the flowchart suddenly goes wrong, you can always fix it without redoing the work from the very beginning. If you need to undo the last action, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Z. In addition, in the "History" section on the right panel, you can always view the full history of edits and restore the previous version of the scheme at the stage of editing you need.
