Abstract
.
The major characteristic of soil agrocenosis – its health which defines size and
quality of a crop alongside with fertility is discussed. Healthy soil is clean soil which does not
containing technogenic radionuclids, xenobiotic, natural pollutants and harmful bioagents
in quantities above the permissible level. Health of soil agrocenosis is provided by means of
their self$clearing ability and supressivity, controlled and supported by factors of long$term
biocenotic regulation and ecologically$sound agrotechnical methods, such as: use the
phytosanitary predecessors, balanced fertilizers, crop$breeding techniques and a mosaic
of steady sorts, adaptive system of soil treatment, an arsenal of biological plants protection
methods, etc.
