The development of students' research skills in the context of updated curriculum

The article deals with the description of students' research activities, understanding of the
structure, development of motivation. This is not just mastery of knowledge, but also the
development of skills to set educational goals on their own, to design ways to implement them, to
monitor and evaluate their achievements. This requires the creation in the teacher educational
practice of certain conditions for the inclusion of students in active cognitive activity, particularly,
to the research work. It was also emphasized that this activity has a phased and purposeful
formation of all components of a research culture, taking into account the characteristics and
capabilities of students. The article provides recommendations to teachers for the effective
organization of this type of student activity. The recommendations disclose the necessary
components of research skills, such as organizational, search, information and evaluation.
