Russian fantasy as a genre of literature has come a long way of becoming and development.

Nick Perumov – one of the representatives of this genre. In his works, the writer is repelled by the

experience of J. Tolkien, myths, legends and tales. The article discusses some of his works and,

based on their comparison, identifies the general trends in their writing, as well as the differences

inherent in the plot lines of his works.
