Competence and competency of a foreign language teacher

as main acmeological categories

This article deals with the concept of «competence» and «competence» from the point of view of modern

methodology of science, who still have not received a single interpretation. The views of home and foreign

researchers on competency-based approach characterized by centering on the identity of the learner, perfecting

his/her abilities to self-development by means of the target language are also analyzed.
