Eskimo Families The Eskimo people live in the north. The family is the centre of their life. There is a father, a mother and one or more children in a family. Long long ago an Eskimo family lived in a snow igloo or a tent. It was made of animal skins. Today most Eskimos live in small houses made of brick or wood. Eskimo fathers hunt and fish to bring food for the family. They eat meat and sell skins to get some money for clothes and bread.
Mostly Eskimos live in the north of Canada where it is very cold and the snow lies on the ground all the year round. Then, families usually stay at home. The summers are short and cool. At that time they go hunting and fishing and live in camp tents. Then, the mothers and children often help the fathers hunt and fish. It is the holiday for all. In the morning, the whole family must fish. In the afternoon mother cooks fish soup over the campfire, the children go swimming.
