Abstract. The formation of patriotism and culture of interethnic relations is an integral
part of the educational process in the modern Russian school. The article discusses one of the
most effective educational technologies, a web quest technology, which is one of the most
suitable for educating patriotism among students. The article reveals the relevance of patriotism
education among schoolchildren, discusses the features of the web quest technology, as well as
the competencies that work on the web quest develops. As an example, the web quest “Love for
the Motherland” is given. There are introduced goals, tasks and the stages of work on this
educational web quest.
