| Results of the study:
Societies can differ markedly in their systems of thought. This evidence concerns a comparison of the societies, philosophical orientations, and scientific outlooks of these highly sophisticated cultures: those of ancient China and Greece where the social and cognitive differences were related. Discussion The diversity of world cultures trigger many authors from various fields of social sciences, cultural sciences and psychology to speculate that the origin of these differences is traceable to markedly different social systems. Many authors in the field of cultural psychology and cognition have drawn a conclusion based on empirical findings that East Asians have holistic cognition, which means that they rely less on categorization and formal logic, but rather use “dialectical” reasoning (Basseches 1980). At the same time, Westerners have more analytical cognition, which primarily make them pay attention to the object, then to the categories which the object belongs to and with the help of formal logic and other rules, try to understand its behavior. These 2 types of cognitive processes are embedded in different naive metaphysical systems and tacit epistemologies. According to Nisbett et. al. [1] social differences of different cultures affect not only beliefs about specific aspects of the world, but also influence: a) Their native metaphysical systems at a deep level b) The nature of their cognitive processes I argue that social organization and social practices can influence directly the development and use of cognitive processes such as dialectical versus logical ones [2].
