Annotation. Patriotism is considered taking into account time features, patriotism
historical and actual is allocated. The essence of historical patriotism and actual patriotism, their
importance and necessity for the development of the state are revealed. The article presents an
analysis of a sociological survey with questions devoted to the theme of patriotism in the Russian
Federation for 2016 and 2018 in comparison with the indicators of 2014. The data are presented
by the all-Russian center for the study of public opinion, the sample was more than 1600 citizens
of Russia from 18 years. As a result, the importance of Patriotic education of the population from
an early age with the participation of parents, educational organizations and representatives of
the state. The successful development of the whole country requires the joint work of civil
society and state authorities.
