Abstract. The article explains the importance of patriotic education in the modern school
system. Based on local history information, it is revealed that learning foreign languages helps
students to become more civil and patriotic minded. We provide examples of English oral tasks,
which include local history material. These tasks take into account individual strategies for
teaching primary school students.
