Ex.6. English Grammar – Comparative / Superlative Adjectives. Comparative and Superlative Adjectives One-syllable adjectives.
For adjectives that are just one syllable, add -er to the end (this explains the above example).
For two-syllable adjectives not ending in -y and for all three-or-more-syllable adjectives, use the form “more + adjective.”
We use comparatives and superlatives to say how people or things are different. We use a comparative adjective to express how two people or things are different, and we use a superlative adjective to show how one person or thing is different to all the others of its kind.
Form the comparative and superlative forms of a one-syllable adjective by adding –er for the comparative form and –est for the superlative.

Max is wiserthan his brother.
