Annotation Central Asia in the XXI century became an important factor in geo-economics and geopolitics. The acceptance of the term "Eurasia" as a broad grouping of a number of states and the positioning of this formation as a new center of economic growth could not but draw attention of the leading countries of the world to it. The general opinion of various analysts that the XXI century. will be the Pacific developmental age, begins to be corrected by forecasts about a new "Eurasian century". "Region Eurasia" includes in its various definitions a wide range of countries - from Turkey and Iran to Indonesia, from Norway to Vietnam, but, in any case, absorbs and the countries of Central Asia. The China, the Silk Road Economic Belt (SREB) initiative, with its five points of ВЕСТНИК КазНПУ имени Абая, серия «Исторические и социально-политические науки», №3(58), 2018 г. 156
cooperation in the countries of Central Asia, has become an incentive factor to a more or less adequate response on the issue of intensifying attention to the Central Asian region. At the same time, the Chinese side declares that the SREB does not exclude the existing mechanisms of regional cooperation, such as the Eurasian Economic Union and even the "New Silk Road" project. In fact, China declares Central Asia a space of free competition and open struggle for its geostrategic position, resources, economic dividends. According to many experts, Kazakhstan plays a key role in the implementation of all these projects. Kazakhstan, in its turn, aspires to maximally benefit from these projects. Kazakhstan is an important part of the large Eurasian space, active geopolitical and geo-economic competition is developing. In this regard, the aim of the article is to analyze the place and role of Kazakhstan in the geo-economy of Eurasia.
