ANALYSIS OF THE CHINESE INITIATIVE OF THE "21ST CENTURY MARITIME SILK
ROAD" IN THE CONTEXT OF THE HISTORICAL RETROSPECTIVE AND MODERN POLITICAL
PROCESSES
Annotation
Today, in the second half of the second decade of the 21st century, we see a new revival of the Silk road. Such
initiatives as the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" put forward by the
Chinese leader Xi Jinping in September 2013 in Astana and in October 2013 in Jakarta are not accidental. They
have a clear focus to Central and Western Asia, Central and Eastern Europe (and then all of Europe), and the sea
silk road - to Southeast Asia. According to estimates, the famous analysts, if the expectations of the Сhinese
leadership are justified, it will change the whole of Eurasia from Indonesia to Poland, which will allow the central
Asian countries to turn from the periphery of the global economy in its active center. This article focuses on the
