UZBEKİSTAN-IRAN RELATİONS: COMMON CONCERNS, COOPERATİON
PRİORİTİES AND RESTRİCTİON
Annotation
The change of government in Uzbekistan may not bring a change of priorities in the fields of foreign policy
and security, and can continue as İslam Karimov determined. Thus, the state of Uzbekistan may not want to
exhibit the appearance of the country, which has become more open and closer to Iran in the views of Arab
countries, especially the United States and Saudi Arabia. On the other side, both countries do not have active
foreign policy towards each others. By the way, Uzbekstan is looking forward to use Iran's opportunities
(especially in the field of transportation) to expand its trade and increase trade ties by expanding its economy in
the Persian Gulf. The article examines the relations between Uzbekistan and Iran within the context of security
and economic priorities.
