THEORETICAL BASIS OF THE ISLAMISM CONCEPT STUDYING

The article analyzes the phenomenon of Islamism. The estimation of the theoretical foundations of the concept 

of  “Islamism”  are  carried  out.  The  nature,  the  reasons  for  the  emergence  and  development  of  ideology  in  the 

political context in the countries of the Middle East are studied. The views of experts in the field of eastern studies 

and  world  politics  are  presented.  Theories  of  Russian  researchers  (Z.  Levin,  G.  Lebedeva,  A.  Petrukhina,  A. 

Ignatenko) characterize Islamism as "Рolitical Islam". Foreign researchers (K. Cox, J. Marks) represent Islamism 

as a radical and militarized version of Islam. The theory of the state-rentier, represented by the young researcher at 

the Kuwait Programme C.Freer, shows the influence of Islamists on the policy of rich Middle Eastern states.
