“Doctor Sanford’s flat”
Doctor Sanford lives in a new nine- storeyed block of flats. His flat is in the third floor. It is very comfortable. He has all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water, a telephone and a chute. There are three rooms in our
flat: a living room, a study and a bedroom. He also has a kitchen, a bathroom, a small entrance hall and two balconies.His living room is the largest in the flat. It is nicely furnished. There is a suit of modern furniture with wall unit, a wardrobe and a bookcase. In the opposite corner there is a TV set with a video and taperecorder. A thick carpet on the floor and curtains on the windows match the walls. All this makes the room cosy.
His bedroom is more spacious. There is double bed, a mirrorstand, two bedside tables and a built- in wardrobe there. In the corner of the room there is a small table with a tape- recorder on it. He enjoys listening to music.Kitchen is rather large. There is set of modern kitchen furniture, a gas- stove with an oven, a food processor, a refrigerator and a cupboard where we keep our dishes. The kitchen serves him as a diningroom. But when he receives guests he has meals in the living- room.Doctor Sanford likes bathroom too because it provides him with maximum of conveniences and is well- fitted. There is a nice mirror, a rack for towels, a bath- tab and a basin. There is a shelf above the basin where we keep soap, tooth- paste, tooth- brush, combs, creams, shampoos and make- up. He tries to keep his flat clean.

All in all there are six or seven rooms in the house. On the ground floor there is a dining room, a sitting room, a kitchen and a hall. In the hall you can see a stand for hats, coats and umbrellas. A staircase leads from the hall to the landing on the first
floor. On this floor there are bedrooms, a bathroom and lavatory. In front of the house they have a small garden, in which they grow flowers: roses, tulips and so on. At the back of the house there is much larger garden with a lawn and some fruit trees. There is also a
vegetable garden where they grow all kinds of vegetables, such as potatoes, cabbages, onions and tomatoes. At the side of the house there is the garage, where they can keep their car.
