Abstraсt. The article provides data on the assessment of anthropogenic factors on the biological activity of the studied soils. The results of field experiments on soil contamination with heavy metals at the level of medium and high with the introduction of mineral fertilizers are presented. The accumulation and migration of pollutants in the body of representatives of the soil mesofauna were determined. The influence of heavy metals on agricultural plants is shown. The data of invertebrate groups in the migration of heavy metals along the food chain are presented. The index of biological accumulation of heavy metals by representatives of trophic groups of invertebrates has been calculated. It was revealed that the accumulation of heavy metals by representatives of various trophic groups of soil invertebrates is not unambiguous. Growing crops for food in the vicinity of these areas is potentially hazardous as crops accumulate excessive amounts of heavy metals. The study of biological activity and monitoring of changes in this most important part of the soil cover during its agricultural use is highly relevant and practically significant.
