Lecture conversation
The lecture conversation, or "dialogue with audience", is the most widespread and rather simple form of active involvement of pupils in educational process. This lecture assumes direct contact of the teacher with audience. The benefit of a lecture conversation consists that it allows to draw attention of children to the most important issues of a subject, to determine content and rate of a statement of a training material taking into account their features.
The conversation as a training method is known since the time of Socrates. It is the easiest way of individual training constructed on direct contact of the parties. Efficiency of a lecture conversation in conditions of group training decreases because it isn't always possible to involve each pupil in bilateral exchange of opinions. First of all it is connected with a lack of time even if the group is small. At the same time the group conversation allows to expand a circle of opinions of the parties, to involve collective experience and knowledge that is of great importance in activization of thinking of pupils.
Participation of listeners in a lecture conversation can be involved with various acceptances, so, for example, an ozadachivaniye of pupils questions at the beginning of the lecture and on its course as it was already described in a problem lecture, questions can, to be information and problem nature, for clarification of opinions and level of awareness of pupils on the considered subject, degree of their readiness for perception of the subsequent material. Questions are addressed to all audience. Children answer from places. If the teacher notices that someone from students doesn't participate in the conversation course, then the question can be addressed personally to that student, or to ask his opinion on the discussed problem. For saving of time questions are recommended to be formulated so that on them it was possible to give definite answers. Taking into account disagreements or unanimity in answers the teacher builds the further reasonings, having at the same time an opportunity, most evidential to state the next concept of lecture material.
During a lecture conversation the teacher has to watch that the asked questions were left without answers since they will have then rhetorical character, without providing sufficient activization of thinking of pupils.
