B ilge K agan, the sev e n te en th K agan o f the E ast T u rk ic K ag an ate and his yo u n g er
bro th er, the crow n p rin ce , the fam o u s m ilitary c o m m an d e r K ul- tegin. By the
nam e o f the lo catio n o f the larg est m o n u m en ts o f ru nic w ritin g - in the valleys
o f the O rk h o n and Y enisei riv ers - th ey are k n o w n as O rk ho n-Y enisei, and by the
lin g u istic p aram eters and n atu re o f the le tte r th ey are c o n sid ered an cien t Turkic
runic in scrip tio n s.
The O rkhon texts consist o f the Big and Sm all inscriptions in honor o f K ul-tegin,
the inscription in honor o f T onyukuk and the O nga inscription. T heir m ain content
is connected w ith the history o f the rise o f the E ast Turkic K aganate: the liberation
o f the T urks from the foreign yoke and m ilitary cam paigns o f the m ost prom inent
representatives o f the K aganate. Poetic lines dedicated to K ul-tegin, B ilge-kagan and
T onyukuk are the first patterns o f Turkic poetry o f the V I-V III centuries. This volum e
contains new reading m aterials o f the texts o f K ul-tegin, B ilge-kagan, Tonyukuk,
w ritten m onum ents «B uguty», «T uy-ukuk», «K u uli-сһог», «O ngin», «M oyin-
chor», «T erkin-tariat »,« Suja », as w ell as the dream book «Y ryk B itik», created
approxim ately at the end o f the VIII - beginning o f the IX century, carried out by a
runologist, C andidate o f philological sciences O rynbai B ekzhan.
For the first tim e the ancient Turkic m onum ents o f the VII - VIII centuries in the
K azakh language are presented in this volum e - «K hem chik-chyrgaky», «B ay-B ulun»,
«U yuk-turan», «С һаа-кһоі», «S ignified», found in the Yenisei valley, Talas texts, as
w ell as Turkic w ritten m onum ents - «Issyk letter», «K ultobi letter », Irtysh written
m onum ents, Z hetysu w ritten m onum ents, A ulieata w ritten m onum ents, Aktobe-
B alasagun w ritten m onum ents, Syrdara w ritten m onum ents found in Kazakhstan.
These m aterials w ere first translated into K azakh by the C andidate o f historical
sciences O. B ekzhan.
T he volum e also contains the text o f the scientific translation o f the poem «Oguz-
nam e», m ade by w ell-know n literary scholars, corresponding m em ber o f the Academ y
o f Sciences o f the K azakh SSR A. D erbisalin, D octors o f philological sciences M.

In the anthology, the M anichaean prayer «H uastuanift», w ritten in Turkic-Sogdian
w riting, is presented. T ranslation into the K azakh w as carried out by A. Alibekuly,
C andidate o f philological sciences.
This volum e o f anthology presents another great m onum ent o f all Turkic literature
«K orkyt ata kitaby» («T he book o f m y grandfather K orkut»), w hich reflects the
