Relationships to other types of thinking Does critical thinking have any connection to creative thinking, higher-order thinking, problem solving, decision-making or other well- known types of thinking? The answer for that question varies on one’s perception of the concept of thinking. Looking back to history we realize that critical thinking and problem solving are the different names of one origin of concept. In Bloom’s taxonomy «critical thinking» is used to describe an educational objectives used the phrase «intellectual abilities and skills» while Dewey used the term «reflective thinking», and others liked to define it as «problem solving» [9, 140 p.] Research methodology Methods of study The study was conducted in a secondary school in a peri-urban setting. The school is located in Uzynagash city which is a regional center of Zhambyl district in Almaty region. However, it must be noted that the government has distributed educational resources fairly in secondary schools throughout the country. So there is little variation in this regard between all secondary public schools. Participants The participants in this study consisted of 30 boys and girls aged between 14 and 15 of 9 th grade. They were divided into experimental and control groups. Participants were randomly assigned to either an experimental group or a control group with 16 and 14 students, respectively. Before the start of the experiment all of the students that participated in the experiment signed consent that confirmed that their free choice in the research that fulfills comparison with study strategies. Experiment contained 3 phases. In the first phase students were given 2 types of pretest questions. First is general and the second is subject mattered. Each type of questions has 3 basic criteria and included 10 questions that cost total of 10 points. Lower order and higher order thinking skills were affected in both types of questions.
