tention to the use of Participle I:
1. While crossing the street the juvenile was struck by a car.
2. The number of cases coming to the police attention is in-
creasing.
3. Travelling by car you’ll see more of countryside.
4. Trying criminal cases magistrates’ courts often act as courts
of preliminary investigation.
5. Appointing the Lord-Chancellor, the Queen acts on the ad-
vice of the Prime Minister.
6. Working alone or with a few close associates, they seek pri-
marily to establish a business in which they can have tax benefits.
7. There may also be a shareholders’ agreement further regulat-
ing its affairs as between its own players.
