Kazakh literature. The presence of this image in the context of the work of the artists of the word is
not accidental and is due to specific historical reality. The yurt appears in the works of fiction as a
living organism that has been influenced by many factors: social, cultural, etc.
The article attempts to create a classification of the types of yurts according to their
functional purpose on the basis of Russian works (A.P. Chekhov “Kyrgyzes”, Mamin-Sibiryak
“Baimagan”, M.M. Prishvin “Travel from Pavlodar to Karkalinsk”) and Kazakh literature (I.
Altynsarin “The Wagon and the House”, M.O. Auezov “The Way of Abai”, G. Musrepov “The Fifth
View”, I. Yessenberlin “Esil is Flowing Rapidly”).
