Annotation: The Kazakh language is compared in a linguistic-cognitive aspect in the article. The main issue
in this case is the acceptance of the cognitive meaning in comparisons. That is, the value of comparisons is
directly related to the images of a person’s spiritual essence, his system of thinking, cognitive mechanisms. The
main concepts to which attention is focused include cognitive categories such as the image of a spiritual essence, a
linguistic picture of the world, a model of the world. Based on the indicated categories, the cognitive meaning of
comparisons is considered as cognitive information transmitted through language. The article also refers to the
lexical and grammatical characteristics of comparisons.
