Annotation. The article is devoted to the study of the nature and prospects of the use of media technologies
in literature classes. Visual images create a holistic picture of reality, overcome language, social and cultural
barriers, expand communication skills, stimulate imagination and stimulate the development of creative abilities.
Audiovisual culture and culture are verbal, do not compete in the modern educated and cultural space,
complementing each other, enrich it with new meanings. The possibilities of modern media technologies as a
pedagogical resource of support and the formation of students' reading competence are considered.
