Study of Structural Changes in Invar-Class Alloys by Positron Annihilation Method
Annotation
In this paper, we study the influence of the annealing temperature on the parameters of
the spectra of angular distributions of gamma rays. Numerous results of studying the spectra of
positron annihilation in metals and alloys containing point defects such as vacancies and
dislocations show that the predominant annihilation of positrons in these defects leads to a
change in the parameters of the annihilation spectra: the probability of annihilation of positrons
with conduction electrons increases; as a result of the redistribution of s and d electrons in the
region of defects, the average lifetime of positrons increases due to a decrease in the electron
density in these regions.
