Упражнение 13. Прочтите диалог, а затем разыграйте его в
парах.
Dialogue
Susan and Simon work in a supermarket. Susan is a manager
and Simon is a programmer.
Susan:
Hi, Simon! Glad to see you! We are very happy you are
working in our company.
Simon:
Hi, Susan! Why are you so happy?
Susan:
You see, yesterday I decided to examine the operation of
the store as we installed a new computer system on your advice.
Simon:
And what?
Susan:
It was really great! The computer system is remarkable.
Moreover as we replaced our cash registers with special terminals
the work became more efficient. With the help of the computer
system our supermarket sold more goods to our customers.
Simon:
Susan, I didn’t want to tell you beforehand, but I had
worked out another program.
Susan:
What is it?
Simon:
It can tape the department number, amount of sales,
the name of sales clerk…

Susan:
Mm… May be it is very important. But what for?
Simon:
Look here! All information can be stored in the
computer. Every morning you can know a detailed report on the
sales of the day before, what goods were in great demands, what
department worked more efficiently, and…
Susan:
Simon, it is great! I think you will be a good manager
in future.
