RESUME The author of the article considers the concept of «volunteer activity», its main features, as well as
the importance of the formation of emotional intelligence through volunteer activity, as one of the most
important abilities of a social educator.The experience of famous Russian scientists on the technology of
forming professional competence of future social educators is analyzed.Variants of the formation of
emotional intelligence through the organization of various forms of events are proposed.Actual issues of
volunteering in Kazakhstan are presented.
