Abstract. The research is dedicated to the analysis of sociocultural competence and its’
role in the process of learning languages and in the process of forming patriotic feelings in
Middle school. Having teenagers’ psychological characteristics analyzed, we concluded, that
motivation takes a very important place in the process of learning for teenagers. During the
research we found out the gist and the meaning of the notion of “linguocultural studies”. On the
grounds of all the analyzed details we can recap, that it’s necessary to develop sociocultural
competence of teenagers with the help of linguocultural studies as one of the most effective ways
to learn foreign languages and cultures. Furthermore, using of linguocultural aspects during the
process of learning can help forming teenagers’ personalities, patriotic feelings included. Having
the goals and principals of extracurricular work analyzed, we came to a conclusion, that
participating in it helps the learners to increase their motivation and to gain sociocultural
competence, which is necessary for forming patriotic feelings.
