Abstract. The article deals with the basic concepts of patriotism and the role of Patriotic
education in the life of young people. The importance of preserving and reviving the national
power of spirit, which has a direct impact on the development of the institution of civil society, is
determined. On the basis of the analysis of the works of domestic scientists devoted to the study
of Patriotic education, a study was conducted, the purpose of which was to identify the level of
patriotism and Patriotic education of modern youth. A number of practical recommendations for
the development and improvement of the level of patriotism of the younger generation of our
country have been developed.
