Abstract. In the modern world, the problem of patriotic education of the younger
generation is very relevant. Fostering patriotism is a multifaceted process that is carried out by
various social institutions. The leading role should belong to the education system, since it
concentrates the most effective psychological and pedagogical mechanisms that govern the
formation of personality. The article describes the sphere of legal regulation of the patriotic
education of modern youth. The problems of the formation of patriotism in modern educational
institutions.
