KAZAKHSTAN'S ENERGY POLICY AND ENERGY SECURITY

In an increasingly globalizing world, the energy issue does not just have to have a major preliminary - it has 

become  an  important  factor  in  shaping  the  new  geopolitical  and  geoeconomic  global  structure.  The  energy 

problem was born on the one hand as the traditional energy resources were rapidly declining, while on the other 

hand  the  industrial  production  was  continuously  increasing  in  demand  for  raw  materials.  Kazakhstan's 

administration,  which  has  become  aware  of  the  strategic  importance  of  the  country's  oil  and  gas  abundance  in 

terms of 21st century world economy, follows a foreign policy that will strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the 

world and benefits from the energy cost. 

Energy security, a key factor in international security, is one of Kazakhstan's political and economic priorities. 

Therefore,  Kazakhstan's  foreign  policy  has  been  focused  on  finding  stable  and  safe  export  routes  for  local 

hydrocarbon resources. The safeguarding of security in Eurasia benefits Kazakhstan's national interests because it 

is part of the global economic process. This role is essentially secured by the transmission of energy resources. At 

the  same  time,  Kazakhstan,  which  is  a  balancer  of  regional  imbalances,  aims  at  an  integrated  approach  to  the 

region with a balanced foreign policy understanding in its foreign policy and thus believes that peace, stability and 

prosperity can be achieved on a regional-global scale. The purpose of this article is to analyze the energy policy of 

Kazakhstan at the present stage.
