FOLK MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO WATER: ETHNOGRAPHIC ASPECTS

 “Indigenous  knowledge”  and  “spiritual  culture”  are  closely  related  to  each  other.  The  Kazakh  people  live 

inextricably  with  nature,  living  by  its  laws,  understanding  its  language,  and  also  learned  how  to  anticipate  and 

understand natural phenomena. They were able to use the gifts of nature in traditional life and to know the signs 

associated with nature, which were passed on from generation to generation. The indigenous medical knowledge 

of  Kazakhs  consists  in  how  they  were  treated  and  how  they  used  natural  means.  Honoring  Mother  Earth,  our 

ancestors worshiped the water. Water was not only revered but also tried to establish a literate "dialogue" with it. 

And attempts to build a dialogue with water gave brilliant results. Indigenous knowledge associated with water 

passed on from generation to generation. To date, this knowledge has benefited not only the implementations but 

also the spiritual development of mankind.
