KAZAKHSTAN - THE REGIONAL HUB OF ISLAMIC FINANCING: DYNAMIC OF
DEVELOPMENT AND PROSPECTS
Annotation
This article examines the course, problems and prospects for the development of Islamic finance in the
Republic of Kazakhstan. The article contains processed results of interviews / surveys among domestic and Arab
experts. At the same time, statistical research methods, event analysis and discourse analysis were used. The main
research questions are: What is the share of Islamic finance in Kazakhstan? How are the secular law and Sharia
law harmonized? Considering that 70% of the population of Kazakhstan are Muslims, why are Islamic financial
centers not in high demand?
