RESTORATION OF MANUFACTURAL HERITAGE

This article analyzes the problems of the restoration of the manuscript heritage on the example of the Muslim 

manuscript  of  the  Arabic  graphics  of  1888  from  the  family  archive,  and  gives  recommendations  for  solving 

problems.  Attention  is  paid  to  the  necessary  conditions  for  the  preservation  of  documents  on  paper  basis, 

processes  that  slow  down  chemical  destruction  and  protect  against  mechanical  damage.  The  reasons  for  the 

destruction  of  documents  on  paper  basis  are  presented  and  the  main  task  of  the  restorer  is  to  slow  down  the 

processes of natural aging and, if possible, to eliminate all damage.
