Annotation.
The article presents the results of studies to determine the timing of mowing of annual crops in the arid steppe of Kazakhstan, in order to increase the productivity of green and dry matter. In addition, the timing of mowing of the mixtures was determined in the following phase - in periods earing, of exit into tube, the buttonhole and milk ripening forage crops and oilseeds and pulses in phases of flowering and formation of beans. Before each mowing period, the records and observations were carried out, including the height of the plants. The maximum plant height indicators were determined in the grass mixture with the inclusion of pearl millet, and amounted to an average of 56.5-72.4 cm, the height of the grass mixture, including rapeseed, averaged 52.7-64.1 cm. In comparison with the timing of mowing, during the period of milk ripening of grain crops, during the formation of legumes and oilseeds and during the the buttonhole, the yield of green mass was 72.3-92.0 C/ha higher than during the periods of exit into the tube, flowering and earing. Also, the yield of dry mass of the mixtures was higher in the period of milk ripening, pod formation and the buttonhole 22.5-31,2 kg/ha than when mowing during periods of elongation, flowering and earing.
