Note: (st) – control option; II/V – second decade of May; III/V–third decade of May; +, - st.─ Variance from the control variant

This is due to the fact that there was more herbage mixtures in the control variant than in other variants due to the presence of an oilseed crop - rapeseed [10, 11].

Compared to the average biannual values, the dry weight of African millet in the herbage mixture, which formed the highest yield of green mass in the course of stemming, flowering and ear formation of cereals, amounted to 122.0 c/ha, and dry fodder - 22.8%. During themowing period, the average yield of rapeseed was 87.6 c/ha. Among the options, the highest yield of green mass was made up of herbage mixtures with the sowing of African millet. That is, the yield of African millet was 34.4 c/ha higher than that of the control variant of the herbage mixture (table 2).

The periods of stemming and earring of cereals in the herbage mixture coincided with the July precipitation, which was characterized by heavy foliage and a higher crude protein content compared to the control. A great deal of scientists noted in their research that a higher chemical content of crude protein is observed in plant leaves than in stems [12-14].

Conclusion. The study findings indicate that both the yield of various herbage mixtures of green and dry mass, their average feed unit, and the corresponding rations, are the basis for efficient and intensive dairy cows and cattle feeding.
