EFFECTIVE EDUCATIONAL LEARNING SYSTEMS INTERFACE FOR BLIND STUDENT
Abstract.
There have been many studies on improving User Interface (UI) usability, with many of the
techniques and methods being implemented across thousands of websites throughout the Internet. Yet when
implementing the user interfaces, designers and front-end developers focus more on the visual representation
and do not test the interface for accessibility for blind users. On the example of Moodle educational platform,
we used simple methods of hidden text and a table view to develop a new interface for parts of the system that
helped to increase its usability for visually impaired users. The results of our user study document that our
interface enables faster and more precise completion of daily tasks for blind users of Moodle.
