Ex.14. Speak on the following quotations:

  1. "Society produces rogues, and education makes one rogue cleverer than another." –Oscar Wilde

  2. "Children enter school as question marks and leave as periods." – Neil Postman

  3. "We are shut up in schools and college recitation rooms for ten or fifteen years, and come out at last with a bellyful of words and do not know a thing." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

  4. "The founding fathers in their wisdom decided that children were an unnatural strain on parents. So they provided jails called schools, equipped with tortures called education." - John Updike



Ex.15. Group discussion. Discuss the following questions in group:
How can we improve this country’s educational system?
How has technology helped to improve the educational systems?
Do you prefer to study alone or with other people? Why?
Give your ideas on the problems.

Ex. 16. Look at the list of qualities below. Which in your opinion, are the most important once needed to be a good teacher?
